The project included the supply and installation of Wabtec Vapor vShield Operator Protection Barriers on 113 buses across C-TRAN’s fleet.

The installation work was performed at C-TRAN’s maintenance facility in Vancouver, Washington, where CCW teams completed the project across multiple Gillig and New Flyer bus models. Each barrier was custom-fit to the vehicle and installed to meet C-TRAN’s specifications and transit industry safety standards.

Prior to delivery, each bus underwent CCW’s pre-sale preparation process to ensure it was ready for immediate service upon arrival. The work focused on enhancing vehicle reliability, safety, and overall appearance while preparing the buses for service in Hawaii.

RIVERSIDE, CA – Complete Coach Works (CCW), North America’s leading provider of transit bus and sustainable transportation solutions, is pleased to announce a new contract with Pierce Transit for the installation of driver barrier systems on 37 MCI coaches.

The work will be completed at Pierce Transit’s facility in Lakewood, Washington, where CCW technicians will perform the installations directly on-site. Through its on-site labor services, CCW brings skilled transit technicians directly to an agency’s facility to help complete projects, supplement existing staff, and keep fleet work moving. This flexible approach allows agencies to access CCW’s experience without transporting vehicles to another location. The Pierce Transit project includes 25 diesel and 12 CNG MCI buses.

The contract was completed through the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services (DES) Contract. By utilizing the DES contract, Pierce Transit was able to streamline the purchasing process and move the project forward more efficiently.

The appointment reflects Remtulla’s longstanding commitment to the public transportation industry and his dedication to supporting transit agencies throughout Texas and across North America. As a member of the TTA Board of Directors, he will work alongside fellow transit leaders to help advance the association’s mission of promoting safe, reliable, and innovative public transportation throughout the state.

Remtulla has also been invited to participate in the 2026 Texas Transit Association Board Workshop, where board members will collaborate on strategic initiatives, organizational planning, and priorities that support the future of public transportation in Texas. His appointment to the Board becomes effective August 1, 2026, and he will officially be welcomed by fellow board members during the Board Workshop in South Padre Island.
